Blogging Slacker...and some Puppy Pics

Wow! Great way to attract new readers....not blogging. Oops. Hey, I've been busy. After Panama I got a brutal cold upon our return. Then it got a little better, I went to the gym, and the next day I had a brand new cold that was even worse than the first! So I got nowhere with my resume, job hunting, or workouts. But I did lose 8 lbs from it all and so far it has stayed off. I went back to the gym last week and have been trying to gain my stamina back. It's so frustrating how much strength I lost from being sick for so long!

Anyway, a few shots of Chase, Kailey & Willow that I took on one of the only snowy days we've had this winter. This is Canada I live in right??? Oh well, the sooner spring gets here the better. After Panama I think I've developed a new appreciation for summer.

Holy Learning Curve...

So I've decided to take up photography as a hobby. I need something other than television to occupy my free time and since I don't have a crafty bone in my body...photography seemed to fit. I don't expect to be great at it, but hope I can learn enough to become decent!

After much research, I decided on the Nikon D3100. It's the perfect mix of quality combined with being user-friendly for beginners, and different lenses will allow it to grow with me as I improve. I was thrilled to realize they just started offering it in red, so of course I had to get the pretty, shiny version!

The main lessons I have learned so far are: 1) The best shots seem to happen by accident, and 2) It is going to take MUCH longer to learn the basics than I thought it would!

That's three out of about 200. Ouch. This will take time....but I do have plenty of that.
